OCTOBER 1ST.... DAY #1 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWE'EN

Welcome to the DE-STEMPELWINKEL designers blog,
we had such a great time last year taking part in the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWE'EN,
hosted by the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM
that we're doing it again this year.
All the details of the prizes, scavenger hunt...rules etc for this month long
HALLOWE'EN fest are to found HERE.
The full blog roll for this hop will remain on the side bar for the whole of the month.
Every day of this month, OCTOBER,
we, the design team for DE-STEMPELWINKEL will have a project to show you using
STAMPS and supplies from DE-STEMPELWINKEL..... a stamp company based in Holland
who will ship world-wide and offers a fast friendly service.
So...here we are the 1st day of the month,
so it's a new calender page, and its the dragons turn.... who else would kick off  for Hallowe'en hey?
I have made a flip over calender out of board, using ribbons to bind it.
The cover has been stamped and masked, i drew in all the bubbles coming from the cauldron,
coloured with alcohol pens, pencils and ink.
This little old witch is cooking up a real treat for everyone this month.
Inside the front cover is a date planner,
I drew out a grid, wrote in the dates, then added some ghosts, owls on branches and some more twiggy bits.
As for the colouring i did as for the front cover... a varity of mediums.

birthday card

Hi and hello to all of you .... again I'm late ... and I'm utterly disconsolate :-(
I just can't apologize enough.
Luckily I made a birthday card I sent to a special person I met in blogland :-) recently so I can share it.

supplies used
stamps
the birdman P0808NS
city view  FAS R1010
chicken wire SW R13040

others
acrylic paint
stencil specimens TCW6x6/454
white gel pen
watercolour pencils

The backgrounds are from my stash of gelli prints.
I stamped the birdman separately and coloured him in with watercolour pencils, fuzzy cut the image - and then I attached a piece of ribbon behind him so that it looks at least a bit as if he's sitting in a bench. Both elements are attached on a city scene that I masked and stamped twice.
The piece on the top is torn from another gelli print on which I sponged through a stencil with black acrylic paint. Finally I added the brads (cat and bat :-)), stamped the chicken wire background and 'drew' some little stars into the nightsky.

So, als always, thanks so very, very much for stopping by and having a look. Again, I'm so extremely sorry that I'm late again, will seriously update my calander and schedule ... :-(
Have a great week everyone.

Hugs, Suzanne xx

Herfst betekent ook mooie kleuren

Gebruikte materialen:

Mix some brown and yellow alcoholinks on your craftsheet and ink your backgroundstamp with it. Stamp it in the middle of your card.
When the print is dry you can stamp the leaf with Versamark and emboss it with Detail black.
Cut out the square and mat it on matching colours of cardstock.

Knuff

Good morning all ...
It's me again, Suzanne. I'm sharing a magazine rack called 'Knuff' :-) that holds my copies of the Craft Stamper magazine.
Unfortunately Mark is not able to share one of his awesome pieces with us today due to some technical problems :-( so you have to bear with me the second day in a row ;-)

craft stamper magazine :-)

The wooden case has been painted with acrylic paint and stencilled. When it was dry I stamped the background images and transfered the letters onto the surface - they're from a book about various letter shaping I bought recently.
The women were stamped on a page from a CS magazine and fuzzy cut, the number stamps were inked with archival ink and then wiped back a little so that only the edges would show - they were stamped separately on a piece of package paper I used for a 'desk pad'. Finally all the cut out elements were adhered and the edges of the case were sponged with archival ink brown. It is still to be sealed ... :-)

Thank you very much, as ever, for stopping by and having a look.
Have a great day averyone ...

Art Journal – time

It's Suzanne here, I'm sharing an art journal spread I made.

wheel of the year CP Q534

various stencils,

Dylusion stamps inbetweenies and
around the edge
embossing folder
original rust OR100G
wings from plate 07 PLATECP07
TH die weathered clock

The first layer has been gessoed, I glued down snippets from embossed cardboard and applied another layer of gesso. Then some modelling paste was applied through various stencils and the background was sprayed with light and dark green, when dry the top was sprayed with dylusions. I stamped parts of the clock and the wheel of the year as well as the dylusion stamps onto the background. The die cut weathered wood and clockhands were sprayed with green too and then covered with original rust.
For the art doll I used the paper piecing technique with two different gelli prints and coloured in other parts with metallic watercolour. The hourglass was stamped separately on a cardboard tag, sprayed with green colour spray and droplets of orange. This was attached with staples.
On the hourglass I used glue and bird sand and covered it with glossy accents.

The quote says: The time you enjoy wasting is no wasted time.
(Bertrand Russel)

In the end I highlighted all the raised areas with inka gold.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and having a look.
Have a great weekend everyone,

ALTERED BOX

Good morning,
today I have a small altered box to show you.
I sanded the box, then painted it with distress paint., inside and out.
I then sanded the top and sides really well andpainted again.
Once dry I re-sanded, stamped and masked my images.
The images for the inside of the lid and bottom of the box were stamped onto card then stuck inside.
I coloured the images with watered down distress inks to give the box an ancient treasure kind of look.
Once it was completely dry I sanded around all the edges and used distress ink to high-light them.

Distress paint op textiel/Distress paint on fabric

Yes, really, it can be done, and is also washable! The black bag has been washed several times, and it still looks as beautiful as before washing it.

Algemene werkwijze:

General procedure:

Wash the fabric without fabric softener and iron it.
Put a piece of cardboard inside bag or shirt to prevent the paint from going through to the backside. For a T-shirt put a piece of fine, waterproof sanding paper on top of the cardboard.
If the cardboard is smaller than the fabric, attach the fabric with clothpins to the cardboard, so it cannot shift.
Attach the stencil with maskingtape, so that the paint cannot go outside the pattern or the stencil onto the fabric.
If you are using a stencil you can put some paint on a palette or craftsheet and use a stencil brush to bring on the paint. For bigger surfaces you could also use the mini blending tool, but you have to tap it like a stencil brush to "push" the paint into the fabric.
For free painting of drawing lines you can use Fantastix of Cut 'n dry nibs.
Let the paint dry thoroughly.
First iron the painted fabric on the backside to fixate the paint. Now you can wash it at 30 - 40 degrees Celsius.
ALWAYS IRON ON THE BACKSIDE!!!!

Gebruikte materialen zwarte tas/materials used for the black bag:

Op deze donkere ondergrond heb ik de verf in meerdere lagen opgebracht. Dit was een eerste experiment, het lijkt me nog handiger om eerst een laagje wit op te brengen, en daarna kleur. Waarschijnlijk dekt het dan sneller.
On this dark surface I have put the paint on in multiple layers. This was my first experiment, it seems better to use a layer of white paint first, and then colour. That will probably cover the black faster.

Gebruikte materialen ecru tas/materials used for the light bag:

Zoals je bij de vlinder en het woord Art kunt zien is de verf echt dekkend, je kunt gerust twee kleuren over elkaar gebruiken. De eerste laag wel eerst goed laten drogen! De blaadjes in de takken heb ik gemaakt met de vlekken uit het stencil Viva La Art.
As you can see in the butterfly and in the word Art the paint is really opaque, you can use two colours on top of each other. Let the first layer dry completely before adding the second layer! The leaves in the branches are made with the spots from the stencil Viva La Art.

Shabby Chic Numbered Distressed Pie Crust Table

Stamps Used:
The Numbers are from Plate 168 Grote Cijfers

Thanks for stopping by,Mark here and  I'm sharing a quick Step by Step for this heavily distressed Pie Crust table accented with numbers from De Stempelwinkel.
I used the Decoart chalk paints for the table and stamping.

Using an electric sander I took the worst of the lose flaky wax/varnish off.

I wanted as nice strong red for my base so two coats of Romance were applied and once dry the electric sander came back out.

One thin coat of Delicate was applied and then some more sanding back.
Stamping with paint can give you great results and works best on pieces like this rather than inks.

spread a thin but even layer of paint across your craft sheet.
When using numbers or letters I use an acrylic block with a grid system to help keep things as straight as I can, I also used some stencil tape to give me a straight edge to stamp up to.

Once dry the numbers were given a light sanding just to take the stark look away.
The table was finished with a couple of coats of soft touch varnish to give a beautifully soft finish.

A quick shot before the numbers were added.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Tags for my fatbook page.

Good morning,
Its the dragons turn again today to share a stamped project with you.
At the end of August I showed you a collage fatbook page.
I decided it needed 'more' so I matted and layered it to include secret pockets to hold tags.
These are the 4 tags...
.... here they are in their hidden pockets....
although they do push in further with only the tabs showing.

The images are just stamped and lightly coloured...then matted onto black card.
I think it makes a far more interesting fatbook page now.
