Kerstkaarten op voorraad.

Leafing pen

Gustav Klimt Card

Stamps Used:
All The Stamps are from Klimt PlateCP001
Morning all, Mark here and with the holiday season approaching even I am going to need some cards, but I will be keeping it non traditional as always ;)
I have used a couple of mixed media boards, I love this alternative to the standard craft card substrate, it just opens up so many more options for creating and using mediums like paints where normal card will just warp.
I have used Decoart Media Fluids for my back ground and just applied the paint with my finger blending colours as I went along. Using your fingers really allows you to work the paint out really thin so the drying time is almost instant allowing you to work colours quickly  and to get a nice feathered look to the blending.
I love the quirky abstract nature of the Gustav Klimt images and like how the colour brings out the nature of the stamp but the blues add a hint of sadness to the image.
I punched a couple of holes and added eyelets to both media boards and tied them together with a thin piece of leather cord.
The boards have been sealed with Satin Varnish to protect and to bring out the colours. It's all set for the message to be written with a fine white paint pen.
As always a great big Thanks for stopping by xx.

Dance to your own Rhythm

Hi all ...

Today I'm sharing two cards with silhouette stamps. As much as I love them, using them is always a challenge for me.

Supplies used
silhouettes from plate 188
bg stamp from plate 77

barn door, fossilized amber, spiced marmalade, antiqued bronze
stazon inkpads

The background is made with the shaving foam technique and the stamp images are stamped with stazon inkpads in various colors.
In case you're not familiar with the 'shaving foam technique' - I think it's not used by many people at the moment - Ineke did a great tutorial in one of  our technique posts: shaving foam technique

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.

Brown Christmas card.

Good morning....
Yes I know its still only November and I'm breaking my own rule of
NO Christmas cards before December but I just had to because our challenge
on the DE-STEMPELWINKEL STAMPERS BLOG ends in just a couple of days
and I had this design for a card in my head!
Very simple... a little like me.... using just an embossed base card and distress ink.
I'm no card maker...I like simple but effective....
so this year most of my cards will be something along these lines.

Thank you for stopping by.... Hope you'll check out the challenge blog
and enter with something BROWN.

Drift Wood Doodles

Stamp Used:
The Bee's are from Wings Plate NSPL108
Morning all, Mark here and I have been playing around with some drift wood and the smallest stamp I have.
A little while back a crafty friend of mine (thanks Neil Walker) gave me some bits of drift wood and after seeing the colourful musings of people like Kate Crane I thought I would step out of my style a bit and try something a little different.
I base coated the top face of the wood with some Decoart Tinting Base and then mixed my colours with the Media Fluids to paint my stripes.
Using the two smallest stamps I have I added the Bee's using archival ink and defined the stripes and doodles with a paint pen.
The drift wood was finished of with a coat of Satin Varnish.
Although simple I really enjoyed trying something a little different and I love the way the colours look on the faded out natural colours of the drift wood.
This is definitely something I will try.
Thanks for stopping by xx
As for the ATC swap, As there are only a few of you I would love to swap with you all and shall get cracking on making a couple more cherubs ;)
Paul,Creepy Globug,Butterfly and Sandy if you could drop me a line ill grab your details xx
Thank you xx

'Ancient' wall plaques

Good morning...
Today I have a couple of stamped clay wall plaques to show you.
These fit perfectly with the challenge thats running over on our
where our theme is BROWN....
I stamped into clay and using my 'homemade' clay adhesive' i stuck the dried clay pieces onto
heavy duty board mounts.
I used black and brown acrylic paint and metallic wax for the dark bronze sheen.
I hope I have given these stamped clay pieces the look of something thats been unearthed from
a dig at the ruins of some ancient tempel in Greece or Rome.

Thanks for stopping by... hope you'll find time to enter our challenge.

Cherub Atc's

Stamps Used:
The Cherub is from Raffaello's Cherub CP N403
The Flourish is from Baroque Flourishes CP Q521
Morning all, Mark here and I am sharing a couple of Cherubic Atc's that have been inspired by the awful events that have taken place in Paris over the last couple of days.
This is no way a religious statement in any way but you can not argue with images created by the Masters.
I started with a couple of MDF Atc blanks and a scrap I have saved from some 7 dots studio paper which was glued to the Atc's and then trimmed down and the edges sanded to give a nice finish and fit.
I used archival ink to stamp my images and rotated the flourish image to fit the gaps around my Cherub.
The surface of the Atc was sealed with some satin varnish and then a coat of Decoart's one step crackle was applied very thinly in places to get a nice thin patchy crackle.
The Patina Antiquing cream was rubbed into the surface and once dry wiped back with a damp kitchen towel to remove the excess antiquing cream.
For one of the Atc's I added a Tim Holtz embellishment that has also been given the antiquing cream treatment to bring out the words. the other Atc had an arrow embellishment added to lay over the arrow in the image.
I have done two Atc's this time with the aim of trading one in a swap with someone that comments on this post.
If you would like to trade an Atc with me for one of these just mention in the comments that you would like to trade.
If there are more than one of you I will randomly select someone from the list x
Hopefully there will be at least one of you ;)
You have until my next post here to let me know if you would like to take part. x.
Thanks as always for stopping by, remember to check out our challenge blog, details are at the top of the side bar. There are new challenges every two weeks with prizes up for grabs x
Head back tomorrow to see something new from one of our DT members. xxx.

Art Journal cover

Hi all, Suzanne here.
I'm sharing a cover that I made from cardboard, for a bunch of journal pages I had prepared and bound some time ago.

supplies used
script from plate writing letters

picket fence
mustard seed
fossilized amber
staz on inkpad jet black
decoart media modeling paste
decoart media ultra matte varnish
various acrylic paints

The cardboard base has been primed with gesso, when dry I added a bit of water soluble wax crayons (red) here and there and spread a layer of distress paint picket fence and mustard seed, blending them together.
In an art magazine a generous coworker of mine provides me with - thanks so very much, Lina! <3 -  I found a page that had shades of green on one and shades of brown on he other side. I used this to add to the background with quick image transfer.

The space inbetween was stamped with the script stamp and sealed with matte varnish. More images were added with the decoupage technique. I consider it a huge advantage of this technique tthat you can decide where the images should face to. Finally I stencilled dyed modeling paste through stencils, painted the images with a little bit of acrylic paints and sealed everything with matte varnish again.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and having a look.
Have a great weekend everyone ..
Hugs, Suzanne xx

Chained ATC.

I had the pleasure of meeting my team-mate from here(also late of HDH)  Mark, earlier this week.
His acrylic ATC's were a topic of conversation....
so I have to show you today my spin on this.
I have a base plate then a thick acrylic layer followed by a thin acrylic layer.
I stamped on both sides of both pieces of give more dimension.
The photos really don't show very well the effect achieved.
I won't bore you with my work process as Mark has already given instructions in a previous post.

With using so many BROWN'S in this ATC... it fits really nicely with our current challenge over at
Thanks for stopping by...BDx

Mini MDF Concertina Card

Stamps Used:
All Stamps are from Silhouetten 1 Plate 148
Decoart Media Antiquing Cream White
Decoart Media Crackle Paste
Morning all, Mark here and today I am sharing my take on a Concertina card. I have used some MDF blanks, these are slightly smaller than an ATC.
I started my Gessoing the boards and then applying a very thin layer of the Decoart Crackle Paste.
Once dry I painted the boards with a thin layer of white acrylic paint to give a clean even base. I then applied some Media Fluids to create my back ground. I used black archival ink to stamp all my images and distressed the edges as well, a coat of satin varnish was also applied. The back of my boards was painted black so my message can be written in a white paint pen.
The boards have been joined together using some thin black leather lace, the holes were punched using the small setting on the Cropodile and the eyelets were added.
Thanks as always for stopping by. If you fancy a challenge why not check out our challenge blog, The details can be found at the top of the Side Bar.

Sunday, 8 November 2015

Hi all and good morning.
It's Suzanne, sharing a TAG - with lots of texture
and brown.
Well, using brown is a real challenge for me. And since the Scarab was still out I incorporated it. The special thing here is that I used real papyrus for the focal image.

supplies used
scarab N4207NS
egyptian eye from the same stamp plate

matte medium CH-HSP24927
vintage photo
walnut stain
gathered twigs
decoart media crackle paste DMM17
antiquing cream raw umber and patina green
embossing powders brown and gold
decoart dazzling metallics renaissance brown
lumiere paints

For the base I used a piece of light foamboard, cut to shape and primed with gesso. Onto this I decoupages various different kinds of paper scraps and bits of tapes, then I applied the crackle paste. When dry I painted everything with a glaze of matte medium and brown metallic paint and added antiquing creams. Finally I dry brushed a bit of leftover lumiere paint (from painting the scarab) and melted  a mix of embossing powders that I used to emboss the bug.
The scarab has been heat embossed on papyrus (my little one brought it home from a project she did at school and I kept it of course LOL - what else ...) and painted with lumiere paints covered with crackle glaze.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and have a great sunday.
Hugs, Suzanne xx
