Morning all. Thanks for stopping by, Mark here and I'm sharing an ATC with you this morning.
Jetske has some new Decoart Media goodies in the shop now so I wanted to have a little play with a couple of the new products.
I used the Decoart Crackle Paste and the Patina Antiquing Cream. I also used their Media fluid acrylics.
I used a wooden ATC blank and sealed the surface, It is important to do this when working with the crackle products to ensure a good cracked finish. I used a pallet knife to apply the crackle paste randomly across the ATC and left to dry naturally, again this is important, if you heat dry you can stop the cracking process.
Once dry I the ATC as painted gold and tarnished using the fluid acrylics. The ATC as then covered with a coat of the antiquing cream. This product has been designed to dry but remain water reactive. The idea is to cover the surface, let it dry and then wipe the excess away leaving the cream in the lo spots and cracks.
As the cream remains water reactive it needs to be sealed if you want to work over the top, I used a satin varnish and worked a thin layer quickly and lightly over the surface, be careful not to over work this layer as you can drag the cream with the varnish.
I stamped my images with black archival ink, as the surface has lots of texture they came out ok but nit great so I used a fine brush and used black acrylic paint to go over the images.
I sprinkled some Frantage embossing powder across the ATC and and carefully heated, I used an embossing ink pad and swiped the edges and used more Frantage powder.
The clock and 'Here and Now'were added using a set of rub ons from 7 gypsies. These are great for textured surfaces.
Finally the Tim Holtz cogs were added.
Thanks for stopping by xx.

playing card

Hi all ...
It's Suzanne here today and I'm sharing ann altered playing card.

supplies used
couple from plate 'victorian romance' NSPL86
heart from plate 'go aks Alice' NSPL61
crackle stamp from plate 'the face is ... ' NSPL77

gesso 3024-32314
distress paint
mustard seed TH-TDD36395 and
spiced marmalade TH-TDD36463
matte medium CH-HSP24927
stazon timber brown
cherry red
and jet black

At first the card was sanded a little to give it a tooth for the gesso. After the gesso was applied and had dried I scraped on the distress paint with a credit card and when dry I stamped the crackle . To help positioning the couple image I draw a very thin line in the middle with a pencil.
Okay, a confession: I've been quite lucky with the stamping :-) it fits almost perfectly in my opnion.
I covered the resp. bottom half with masking paper and then stamped the image.
In the end the heart was stamped and outlined with a black sharpie, then sealed with matte medium.
To finish the card I applied a layer of triple thick, but yoy can also use a layer of (thick) clear embossing powder to cover the card.

Have a great day averyone ... and please don't miss our de stempelwinkel stamping challenge which is 'women' this fortnight.

Hugs, Suzanne xx

Vintage lady wall hanger.

Good morning....
today we have a new challenge starting on
our theme this fortnight is WOMEN
so to tie in with this I have used an old beer mat and various scraps to make a
victorian inspired wall hanger.
Here are my scraps.....
here is the finished hanger.
I stamped and masked the ladies face then stamped a bird cage ...
I kept the colouring of the image to just a hint to give it an aged look.

Hope you'll be able to join in with our challenge this fortnight.

Stamps Used:
Mayan Calendar is from Prophecies PlateCP54
The Hand and Phrase are from Take A Walk On The Wild Side NSPL84
The Circles are from Diamonds And Decorations PlateCP11
Morning all, Mark here and I am sharing a tag today.
I started by just playing around with my background  and no idea on where the stamping would take me.
I blended some Decoart media fluids on a grey board tag that had been base coated with white and then a wash of dark blue.
I was left with a sunset style background and it started me thinking of far away holidays in sunny places, with this in mind I thought of the Mayan stamp and it led on to a bit of a tribal theme.
I used black archival ink and started with the calendar, I then stamped the hand image, it's actually the centre of a stamp, there is some writing around the hand. This was masked off so I only inked the hand. The Phrase was also cut to make it fit on two lines. Finally the circles were added.
The whole tag was then coated with a layer of satin varnish.
Here's looking forward to Summer ;) xx

city view  FAS R1010
halloween flourish CP Q464

sea gull from plateCP 32 'at the beach' PLATECP32
waterbrush YA-KWB09

gesso 3024-32314

The base of corrugated cardbord was painted with a light colour before parts of the background image were stamped several times and sealed with matte medium. Three more layers of acrylic paint were added (black, grey, teal - let dry thoroughly inbetween). When all this had dried some rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth was used to gently rub away the layers of paint in some areas. At last the circles were stamped with a bottle lid and gesso.
The city view image was stamped separately onto design paper and torn out.The eyes were stamped on white cardstock, cut out and coloured with distress stains - same procedure with the seagulls. Mind you, they're tiny and a real challenge to fuzzy cut ;-)

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today and please don't miss out the challenge over on our de stempelwinkel stampers challenge blog  .... thanks.

Have a great day everyone ...

Art Journal page - sometimes I shut down

Hi all – and a wonderful morning to you.
It's Suzanne here and I'm sharing an Art Journal page today on which I experimented with the background :-)
I so love that shimmer ...

A little bit of texture :-)

supplies used
background stamp roman numbers FAS S1402

dylusions journal sm. DR-DYJ34117
black gesso CH-HSP31383
perfect pearls blue patina PE-PPP21872
a very small amount of heirloom gold PE-PPP21865 and silver
distress paint picket fence TH-TDD36425
white gel pen
silver lacquer pen

At first a fairly thick layer of black gesso was applied onto the page with a palette knife. When only the surface was dry I 'stamped' the numbers with just a little bit of white distress paint into it. I gave it a shot with the heat gun to help along with the drying and also to create little bubbles. Then I dusted the surface with pp silver in the center, pp blue patina and just a little bit of gold on the outside areas. Finally I added some turquoise interference paint around the edges.
The words were written on a separate piece of cardstock that I brayered with black gesso and silver acrylic paint beforehand. I cut them out, distressed the edges and used a silver lacquer pen to highlight them.

Here you can actually recognise the sentiment - I hope :-)

Thanks for paying a visit today and please don't forget to stop by our de stempelwinkel stampers challenge blog :-)

Have a great day.
Hugs, Suzanne

Sunflower / zonnebloem

I made on two piece of paper a background with brush. Then i stamped and embossed the sunflower. I colored with "copics" (i don't have the real ones) and cut out the little ones. I glued the big one on the inside of the card. I stamped the text on a left over and cut out (with the big shot). I also made the window with the big shot,

Salvation And Fly Stamp Board Ovals

Stamps Used:

N5611NS Nun

(Oval Stampbord is no longer available, but lots of other sizes are)

Morning all. Mark here, sorry for the lack of links, my lap top has now developed a virus and I am typing this from my phone :-(    Already taken care of, during my Pepsi-break :-) (Jetske)
These makes are heavily inspired by my crafty friend Helen Chilton, she had been playing with alcohol inks and stamp board.
I picked a bright red, orange and yellow alcohol ink and applied drops heavily to the stamp board focusing mainly on the red and letting the colours blend together and react with each other. If you are unfamiliar with stamp board it's basically a hard composite board with a smooth whit clay surface.
The inks sit nicely on the surface and the colours are nice and intense.
Once dry I stamped my images with black archival ink.
Now the fun part And the beauty of stamp board, using a scraping tool I scratched through the layer of alcohol ink to the clay surface revealing the Hi lights.
Thanks for stopping by.
