MAKE YOUR OWN EMBOSSING PLATE

I have quite a few embossing folders, but i have spent ages looking for one that had a clock and cogs.... to no avail, so using thick card from a dog food pack i die-cut the elements i wanted.... stuck them to another piece of the the thick card to make the image i wanted.
I painted a piece of thick white card with distress paint, allowed to dry then embossed it using my home made plate.
I distressed my embossed piece with Original rust.... stamped my sentiment, then matted my unique piece of art onto black cardstock. The possibilities with making your own embossing plates are endless.... give it a go... its of lot of fun.

Nicely done! Like your combination of cogs and the clock; worked out very well! And what else as rust belongs on this... Groetjes, Gerrina

This is a great idea! This way you can make embossingfolders to your own taste!
For those of you who don't understand English/voor wie het engels niet begrijpt:
stans uit een kartonnen verpakking (bv. honden/kattenvoer)een aantal vormen en plak die op een ander stuk van de verpakking. Zo maak je je eigen embossingfolder! (bovenste foto) De onderste kaart is op deze zelfgemaakte folder geëmbost, van tevoren met Distress Paint gekleurd en naderhand met Original Rust bewerkt. Super toch?

This is a great card. Good piece of homework.

Thank you Jetske for adding the Dutch wording.
You can do loads of things to make embossing plates.... patterns with thick string... mesh... thin coins.. real cogs...if you leave the centre blank you have a flat surface to stamp on.... great way for card makers to have a unique card front.
