Morning all. Thanks for stopping by, Mark here and I'm sharing a little post it note match book holder.
I started by cutting the match book from some 300gsm card stock using the Tim Holtz die.
I could have used Distress inks or Dylusions but I really enjoy playing with paint and have been playing around getting the distress stained look but with paint, for the little match book this may have been over kill ;)
but playing around on a small scale lets you know what will work if you want to go bigger.
Because this was only cut from card I sealed the card with Decoart's Faux Finish Medium, ( all paint I have used is from Decoart as well), both sides have been done, this will help stop the card from warping when paint is added. A base layer of white went down and when dry the colour was added randomly and spritz with water and allowed to run together to get the nice swirly look.A little bit of heat drying to help it along and once all the paint was dry I added the stamps.
The chap was stamped first and a mask was made by stamping onto some thin paper and fussy cutting.
The diamonds and chicken wire were then stamped along with the inside.
All the edges have been swiped with back archival ink using cut n dry foam.
The whole book was coated with Decoart's Satin Glaze to help make it more durable and to give a nicer finish.
The bottom flap was stapled with Tim Holtz's tiny attacher and the word tag was glued over the top.
A couple of other bits of ideaology were also added, the bull dog clip holds a Ticket that has been cut from a movers and shapers die, painted and stamped with a Tim Holtz sentiment. You could also clip receipts etc with it.
The larger of the match books from the die should be large enough to take a post it note pad, I did not have one so have cut sheets of paper to size to make do.
Thanks as always for stopping by, It is always an honour to have you here.
Head back tomorrow to see a new make from one of our DT.xx
