Heart T-Light Holder

Stamp Used:

Morning, Mark here, I am sharing a little T-light candle holder, The heart started as plain grey cast cement.
The heart was given a coat of Gesso and then a coat of Decoart white acrylic paint, using the New fluid acrylics from Decoart the colours were added as a strong wash giving the almost tie die look.
The image was stamped with archival black ink 3 times to cover the top of the heart.Using the black modelling paste from the Decoart media line and a pallet knife I went round the edge of the heart smoothing out randomly. Some dry brushing with white picked out all the details and gave a faux stone finish.
The hole for the candle was painted black and also dry brushed.
Once all was dry the Heart was given a couple of coats of Satin Varnish, this really helped lift the colours and make them pop.
Thanks for stopping by, Mark xxx

I miss the picture "before" (it must have been a boring T-light holder), but the "after" looks great! The colours are beautifully mixed, and the structured edge around it is really nice. The white dry brushing indeed makes it look like "crushed" stone.

Love that textured modelling paste, especially dry brushed for that brilliant weathered look... another really cool creation.
