The Face is from Burning Hearts Plate 56
Morning all, Mark here and I am sharing a quick step by step of how to make a simple Vintage ATC.
My ATC blanks are cut from chip board from Tando-Creative and the paints and mediums are from the new Decoart Media line. They were first painted white and stamped with the image using archival black ink.
Once completely dry I added a was of Transparent Yellow Oxide. With the new media fluid acrylics you need very little paint as they are pure pigment, a little goes a long way.
Using a brush for adding colour washes (it looks like a big pom pom) I dubked the brush into clean water and picked up a little colour and applied it to the ATC.
before the wash.
After the wash, there is a slight aged look to the white.
Once dry I sealed the ATC with matt medium and applied Decoarts crackle glaze.
Once the Crackle glaze had dried I used the new Antiquing creams, a couple of drops smeared accross the surface with a finger is enough. The antiquing cream dries quicklyonce dry using some clean water and a soft cloth just wipe away the excess cream leaving it sitting in just the cracks. The cream is water reactive so you can do the wiping back at any point once dry.
I added a couple of the Tim Holtz chit chat words.
Capture was done using just black antiquing cream while Memory was done with a coat of white first befro re doing with black, it has given a more subtle look to the cracks.
As always, thanks for stopping by. Head back to morrow for somthing new from our DT. xxx
