Hi all and a good morning to you ...
It's Suzanne here on another gray and dark gray and quite wet and nasty day (well, in my neck of the woods anyway).
To lighten this up a little I'm sharing some butterflies today.

Supplies used
plate 07 'wings' PLATECP07
background stamp french text SW S14011

gesso 3024-32314
stazon inkpad jet black
matte medium CH-HSP24927
acrylic paints
water-soluble wax crayons

To prime the craft cardstock I spread a thin layer of gesso with an old credit card; onto this another thin layer of green acrylic paint was spread and yellow and orange paint sponged through a stencil.
The wings were stamped separately on scraps of gelli printed paper - not 'proper' prints actually but sheets of paper I cleaned up the tools with - and cut out in pairs.
For the bodies I tore acute triangles from bookpages (with the help of a ruler), rolled them up tightly, glued and sealed them with matte medium. Finally I gave them a wash of burnt umber acrylic paint.
Finally I added a bit of quite stiff twine with knots at the ends to make the antennae.

close ups

Thanks so much for stopping by today and having a look.
Please also pay a visit to our de stempelwinkel challenge blog and we'd love you to join in.
Have a great day ...

Hugs, Suzanne xx

Wonderful butterflies! They almost look real! Not only the colours are perfect, the bodies are very well shaped, have to try that myself!
