DAY # 3 0F THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWE'EN ....Poe Coaster

Welcome to the De-stempelwinkel design team blog.
We are so pleased to be part of this month long celebration.... during this month long hop you
have the chance of winning some amazing stamps from us, as we are one the the sponsors this year.
The full blog roll is on the side bar and shall remain there all month long.

Today is DAY #3 and we have a project made by MARK.

Stamps Used:

Edgar Allen Poe  CP R589
The Baroque Flourish CP Q521

Morning all, Mark here and my first project for the 31 Days Of Halloween Blog hop is my Edgar Allen Poe Coaster, I have used Decoart's Media Fluids to create my background along with some Dinky Stencils using some Halloween inspired colours.
I wanted to get a mix of the old with a funky twist, more of a graffiti style look.
The coaster was base coated in titanium buff. Green Gold and Cadmium Orange Hue were then applied, Orange first dragging a dryish brush from one edge and lifting off before reaching the other side. I repeated from the opposite side using the Green Gold. The Blue  spots were added by dipping the end of my brush into the paint and gently dabbing.
Using the Harlequin and Brick stencil the paint was applied with a stippling brush, removing most of the paint before hand as I didn't want to  risk seepage under the stencil. I kept my stencilling to the edges as I knew I wanted the main focus to be Poe.
The starkness of Poe being stamped with black archival ink has been off set with the delicate flourishes and some gentle distressing around the edge.
The Coaster has been given a couple of coats of Satin Varnish to form a protective coat and help make the colours pop.
The difference it makes is night and day.

Thanks for stopping by and those taking part in the 31 Days Of Halloween, Happy Hopping and see you tomorrow xx.
