Blikje van Jetske Masmeijer

Ik heb mijn blik bewerkt met de Paperweaving techniek. Eerst een aantal vellen papier bestempelen, dan van deze vellen stroken scheuren. Deze stroken op het blik plakken (met Tesa hobbylijm lukt dat prima), zowel de bovenkant als de zijkanten. Als de lijm droog is het geheel met gesso "beschilderen", zodat de stroken één geheel gaan vormen. De vrouw is op een apart stuk karton gestempeld, ingekleurd en uitgeknipt. Vervolgens heb ik haar op het blik gelegd en de contouren met potlood omgetrokken. Met een Fantastix zwarte Distress inkt langs de contourlijn aanbrengen, zodat een schaduweffect ontstaat. Vervolgens de vrouw op het blik plakken. Afwerken met een bloem (of andere decoratie). Dit is een groot sigarenblik, waarin je bijvoorbeeld kaarten kunt bewaren (of het blik gevuld met kaarten weggeven als een mooi cadeau), of potloden, pennen, stiften etc.

I have decorated my tin with the paperweaving technique. First you stamp a couple of sheets of paper, than you tear strips from that paper. Glue the strips on the tin (Tesa col works fine), both the lid and the sides. When the glue is dry cover the paper with a thin layer of gesso. The gesso blends the papers together creating a coherent background. Than I stamped the woman on a separate piece of cardstock, colored her and cut her out. I placed her where I wanted her to be and outlined the edge with a pencil.

I covered the pencil line with black Distress Ink using a Fantastix, to create a shadow. I glued the woman on the tin. I decorated the tin with a large flower.

This is a large cigar tin, and you can use it to put in cards (or give it away as a beautiful present, filled with cards), or pencils, pens etc.
