Today we have another project by
SUZANNE
Hi all ... after a short break it's me again with a mini chest of drawers. The second one in a week, as I noticed ... but it's an inspiration, isn't it? ;-)Today we have another project by
SUZANNE
Supplies used
stamps
moth from plate 42 dark night PLATECP42
the scream E187
dancing skeletons SW F06098
evil pumpkin SW F13053
skull flourish CP P414
others
modelling paste 10240
versamark ink pad TS-VM001
crackle medium
acrylic paint
stazOn ink pad timber brown
To create texture the piece was covered with modelling paste and painted with red-brown acrylic paint. The single drawers that were white originally were sanded completely and some brown wax cream was rubbed onto them to highlight the veins of the wood, the edges were sponged with stazon brown.
I used some knobs, sanded them a bit so that the paint would have something to grip, first a roughly applied wash of quinacridone gold, then some verdigris tinted paint. After stamping the images a crackle medium was added and the cracks were highlighted with quin gold again.
Finally I heat embossed the surfaces with frantage embossing enamel aged copper.
I didn't have a specific look in mind I wanted to create for this small wooden piece, I just went on ... :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs, Suzanne xx

This chest of drawers certainly is different from the previous one. It seems to be a stone chest, and the knobs seem to be made from porcelain. You have done a great job with this wooden chest!
I like how you left the drawer faces plain. Really makes your piece stand out from the others
Love the drawers, always so fun. Super decoration of the knobs! Love it!

Love those knobs...gorgeous!! Love the way for you left the drawers plain as in waxed and wood veins! The work on the chest is great and the contrast is wonderful! Make more, make more!!
When you have winner inspiration, run with it.
This final project is not a copy of the other at all.
Those knobs are amazing! Each one a work of art.
